6. Reconfigure the administration and MDS servers and the remaining Object Storage Servers in the
system by entering the configure server command, as shown in the following example:
sfs> configure servers south[1-4]
7. Delete the storage that was attached to the removed Object Storage Servers from the database, as
shown in the following example, where arrays 5 and 6 were attached to the south5 and south6
servers:
sfs> delete array 5
sfs> delete array 6
8.3.3 Adding SFS20 arrays
To add a new SFS20 array to an existing system, perform the following tasks:
1. Connect the new array to both servers in the server pair.
2. Shut down and then reboot both servers.
3. Use the show array command to verify that the new array has been discovered by both servers
and that the firmware version on the new array is as specified in the HP StorageWorks Scalable File
Share Release Notes. If necessary, upgrade the firmware version; see Section 8.2.2 for more
information.
4. Use the show server server_name command to check the status of the connection from each of
the attached servers to the new array.
5. Use the configure array command to create LUNs on the new array. See Section A.5.1 for more
information on the configure array command.
When you have completed these tasks, the LUNs on the new array can be used when creating a new file
system, or can be added to an existing file system (see Section 5.6.1).
8.3.4 Removing SFS20 arrays
You cannot remove an SFS20 array if any LUN on the array is in use by a file system. The show
filesystem command shows you which LUNs and arrays are used by each MDS and OST service.
To remove an SFS20 array from the system, perform the following tasks:
1. Use the unconfigure array command to delete all of the LUNs on the array. See Section 3.9.4
for more information.
2. Use the delete array command to delete the array information from the system database. See
Section 3.10 for more information.
3. Shut down both of the servers that are attached to the array.
4. Detach the UltraSCSI cables that connect the array to each of the two servers.
5. Reboot both of the servers.
8.3.5 Adding a dual or a bonded Gigabit Ethernet interconnect
In an HP SFS system where a single Gigabit Ethernet interconnect is used, you can upgrade the system to
use a dual or a bonded Gigabit Ethernet interconnect, provided no other high-speed interconnect is used.
The entire HP SFS system must be upgraded, as described here (that is, you cannot upgrade some servers
to use a dual or a bonded Gigabit Ethernet interconnect and leave other servers using a single Gigabit
Ethernet interconnect).
