Setting up Perfmon
Perfmon should be run from a remote server so as not to interfere with VSM performance. Install the
application on the server, and then log in and launch the perfmon.msc file. Perfmon can then be
set up to run automatically. These procedures are for Windows Server 2003, but the concepts are
the same for Windows Server 2008, although the display is different.
1. Click Performance Logs and Alerts in the left sidebar.
2. Double-click Counter Logs.
3. To create a new log, right-click in the area on the right side, and select New Log Settings.
(Alternatively, you can select Action > New Log Settings.)
4. Type in a name and click OK.
