The range of operating privileges varies by user type:

• Storage administrator

A storage administrator can operate the entire storage system. The administrator user account,

which is the default Remote Web Console user account, is a kind of storage administrator.

Only the storage administrator can perform the following:

◦ Use the Control Panel

◦ Perform audit log and syslog-related operations

◦ Execute the CFL Extension commands

◦ Use the FD dump tool

• Storage partition administrator

A storage partition administrator can operate an SLPR allocated by Remote Web Console. A

storage partition administrator can manipulate user accounts and perform operations using

some (not all) program products. For further information on SLPR or details on the program

products that a storage partition administrator can use, see “Go Menu” (page 53).

Operation Privileges

As you set the user ID and password when you register a user, you can also set various types of

operation privileges for the registered user account. In Remote Web Console, the operation privilege

might be called a role.

The following roles can be assigned to user accounts:

• Account Administrator role. This role has user account operation privileges. Specify Modify,

View, or Disable for each user account. The Modify privilege is set for the administrator user

account, and this privilege cannot be changed.

Table 1 (page 10) shows the operations available to the Account Administrator role.

• Audit Log Administrator role. This role has audit log operation privileges and can perform

audit log and syslog-related operations. Specify Modify, View, or Disable for the user account
