• XP Thin Provisioning pool-VOLs cannot be used as XP Snapshot pool-VOLs, and vice versa.
Monitoring and Tuning Resources
This section describes the function to accumulate statistical information, such as the information shown in
“XP Thin Provisioning Window” on page 38 and the information displayed in Performance Monitor, and
describes the function to support XP Thin Provisioning management.
Monitoring Usage Rates
You can use the XP Thin Provisioning window to display V-VOL and pool usage rates, so that you can
monitor the pool free space and estimate when you will need to increase the pool capacity. For a
description of the XP Thin Provisioning window, see “XP Thin Provisioning Window”onpage38.
Thefollowing tableshows howyou candisplay theusage rates. Youcan useeitherthe XP Thin

• You can display the V-VOL usage rates for a V-VOL. The V-VOL usage rate is
the used V-VOL capacity to all the V-VOL capacity.

StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition Software.
