4. (Optional) Use the name parameter to create a more intuitive name for the container ID. In the
following example, the generated container ID is changed to FASTBOX1:

A message confirms that the HP VMA-series Memory Array was successfully initialized.
Viewing Containers
Before a block media device can be used for block storage, it must be enabled. Once enabled, you
can see the container. The following task shows you how to use the
media block id <id>
enable
command to enable the device, then use the show containers command to view existing
containers.
To view existing containers, complete the following steps:
1. Log in as an administrator to the master SAN Gateway attached to Port 1 of the HP VMA-
series Memory Array.
2. Enter Configure mode using the following commands.
3. Enter the media block id all enable command to enable all block containers.
The
block parameter ensures that you enable vSHARE. The all parameter ensures that every
block container is enabled.
(config) # media init device ata-VIOLIN_MEMORY_ARRAY_23108R00000043
type block name FASTBOX1
Really initialize ata-VIOLIN_MEMORY_ARRAY_FASTBOX1 (all data will be
