set unit_id

Description Assigns a unique user-friendly name (alias) to a LUN. A user-deﬁned name

makes it easier to identify speciﬁc LUNs in other conﬁguration procedures.

Syntax set unit_id <u

nit number><name>

Operand<s unit>

The unit numb

er (0-31) of the LUN.

<name>

The user-fri

endly name (alias) to assign to the LUN. The ID can be up

to 230 alphan

umeric characters or a decimal number in the range of 0

through 655

35. If spaces are included within the name, quotation marks

are required.

Example

To assign the alias UnitZero to LUN number 0:

CLI> set unit_id 0 UnitZero

Device identifier "UnitZero" created.
