3.2 Installation Requirements
A set of HP SFS G3.0-0 file system server nodes should be installed and connected by HP in
accordance with the HP SFS G3.0-0 hardware configuration requirements.
The file system server nodes use the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Update 2 (RHEL5U2) Software
as a base. The installation process is driven by the Red Hat Kickstart process, which is used to
ensure that required RPMs from RHEL5U2 are installed on the system.
3.2.1 Kickstart Template Editing
A Kickstart template file called sfsg3DVD.cfg is supplied with HP SFS G3.0-0. This file can be
found in the top-level directory of the HP SFS G3.0-0 DVD, and is also present on an installed
system in /opt/hp/sfs/scripts/sfsg3DVD.cfg. The sfsg3DVD.cfg file must be copied
from the DVD, edited, and made available during installation.
This file must be modified by the installer to do the following:
• Set up the time zone.
• Specify the system installation disk device and other disks to be ignored.
