• Validate the server name (unavailable for Exchange 2007)

• Skip validation of the virtual copy

If you skip validation, ensure the server name displayed in the Backup Client text box is

correct.

• Truncate the log

3. (For Exchange 2010) Click Next.

4. From the Select Vendor (or Vendorfor Exchange 2007) drop-down list, select the backup

software you are using:

• Symantec NetBackup

• HP Data Protector

5. In the Parameters area, enter the required information, depending on your backup software:

Symantec NetBackup

• Master Server Name: The NetBackup master server

• NBU Policy Name: The name of the policy you are

using

• NBU Full Schedule Name: The name of the schedule

within the policy you are using

NOTE: After the first successful backup, Recovery Manager saves the information entered

in the Parameters area and displays it as the default the next time you create a backup.

6. To automatically remove the newly created virtual copy after backup, ensure the Remove

Virtual Copy from Storage System after backup checkbox is checked.

7. Select whether you want Recovery Manager to defer truncation of the Exchange log after

backup.
