HP PAVILION STARTS UP WITH A 15-SECOND

BEEP AND FAILS TO BOOT

Harry asked if anyone ever had experience with an HP Pavilion that gave a 15-

second beep, 15-second pause, and repeated that pattern. It never made it

through the BIOS. Harry had exchanged all the parts, even the power supply, but

had not isolated the problem.

HP's "CODE PURPLE" MOTHERBOARD FAILURE

Jon had an HP that would not boot and gave a message "Code Purple" - HP said

they would fix that anytime and it turned out that the tattoo in the firmware did not

match the operating system. The solution was to flash the BIOS. Harry said he

does not like to flash the BIOS and there are too many opportunities for

something to fail.
