HP OmniBook XE3 Removal and Replacement 2-9

Removing the Keyboard Cover (with Hinge Covers)

(User-Replaceable)

Required Equipment

• Small Phillips screwdriver.

• Small flat-blade screwdriver.

Removal Procedure

1. Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and remove the battery.

2. Close the display, and remove both screws from the backs of the hinge covers.

3. Open the notebook’s display 180°, so that it lays flat.

4. Use the flat-blade screwdriver to carefully pry up the inside edges of the hinge covers until the

cover pops loose, then lift the cover off.
