4. Remove the PCI riser cage (on page 27).

5. Remove the expansion slot cover.

Installing an expansion board (slot 3, 4, or 5)

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and

remove all AC power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser cage.

1. Power down the server (on page 23).

2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 23).

3. Remove the access panel (on page 24).

4. Remove the PCI riser cage (on page 27).

5. Remove the expansion slot cover ("Removing an expansion slot cover (slot 3, 4, or 5)" on page 54).

6. Unlock the PCI retaining clip.
